Last updated: September 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how The Quiet Edit collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects personal information when you visit quieteditstore.com, create an optional account, place an order, make a payment, or contact us. It also explains how you can make a privacy request. Your specific rights may depend on where you live and the law that applies.

1. Who we are

The Quiet Edit is operated by 上海久衣集电子商务有限公司, referred to in English in this Policy as Shanghai Jiuyiji E-Commerce Co., Ltd. The Chinese name is the company’s registered legal name. The company is the principal controller or personal information handler for information processed through this store.

Our address is Building 4, No. 686 Nanfeng Highway, Fengcheng Town, Fengxian District, Shanghai, China.

For privacy questions or requests, email support@quieteditstore.com or use our Contact form.

2. Personal information we collect

Information you provide to us may include:

  • Order and delivery information, including your name, email address, billing address, shipping address, products purchased, quantities, order value, discounts, currency, and delivery details.
  • A telephone number if you choose to provide one at checkout. We use it only when reasonably needed for an order, payment, delivery, customer service, or fraud prevention, unless you separately agree to another use.
  • Account information if you choose to create an account. Guest checkout may be available, and an account is not required unless the checkout page states otherwise.
  • Customer service information, such as your name, email address, message, order number, photographs, and other information reasonably needed to answer an enquiry or resolve an order or product issue.

Payment information is primarily processed by PayPal or another payment service shown at checkout. We do not directly receive or store your full card number or card security code, and the store does not currently offer its own saved-payment-method feature. We may receive information needed to complete and administer the transaction, such as payment status, transaction ID, payer name or email, billing or shipping details, currency, amount, risk notifications, and refund or dispute status.

Logistics providers may give us shipment status, delivery results, address exceptions, and claim information. Payment, security, or fraud-prevention services may provide risk assessments or technical signals.

Our hosting, WordPress, WooCommerce, security, anti-spam, payment, and related services may automatically process technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, language, access time, pages and actions, cookies or similar identifiers, login and security logs, error information, and referring page. At the date of this Policy, we do not intentionally use a separate visitor analytics service or advertising tracker.

3. How we use personal information

  • To accept, process, fulfil, deliver, cancel, replace, and refund orders.
  • To process payments, verify transactions, prevent fraud, investigate unusual activity, and handle payment disputes.
  • To create and maintain accounts that customers choose to open, show order history, and protect account security.
  • To answer enquiries, provide customer service, address product safety concerns, and keep necessary communication records.
  • To send service messages about orders, payments, delivery, security, returns, refunds, or customer support.
  • To comply with accounting, tax, consumer protection, data protection, and other legal obligations.
  • To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and checkout process.

4. Legal grounds for processing

Where applicable law requires us to identify a legal ground, we use the ground appropriate to the activity. This may include taking steps at your request or performing a contract with you, complying with a legal obligation, obtaining your consent, protecting a person’s life, health, or property in an emergency, or another ground permitted by the applicable law. The ground may differ according to the purpose and the country whose law applies.

5. Sensitive information

We do not ask customers to provide detailed health or medical information, and we do not provide medical services. If you voluntarily mention an allergy, pregnancy, medical condition, or similar information when asking about a soap, balm, salve, essential oil, or another product, we use it only as reasonably necessary to answer the enquiry or address a safety concern. We do not use it for marketing or to create a health profile.

Please do not send sensitive information that is not necessary for your request. Where separate or explicit consent is required by law, we will seek it before carrying out the relevant processing or will ask you not to provide the information.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

The website uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary or reasonably required to operate the shopping cart, checkout, account login, language selection, payment, security, and other functions you request. Disabling these technologies may prevent parts of the website from working correctly.

We do not currently use separate analytics or advertising cookies, sell or rent personal information, or provide personal information to third parties for cross-site behavioural advertising. If we introduce optional analytics, advertising, or similar tracking in the future, we will update this Policy before doing so and provide consent or preference controls where required by law.

7. Service emails and marketing

Order confirmations and messages about payment, delivery, security, returns, refunds, and customer support are service communications needed to administer your transaction or request.

We currently do not offer a marketing email subscription, and we do not add an email address supplied for an order to a marketing list. If we introduce marketing communications in the future, we will update this Policy, obtain any consent required by law, and provide a way to unsubscribe.

8. When we disclose personal information

We disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose. Recipients may include website hosting and technical providers, WordPress and WooCommerce services, email and customer-service providers, PayPal and other payment or fraud-prevention providers, logistics, customs and shipment-tracking providers, security and anti-spam providers, backup providers, professional advisers, and other providers that support the store.

Suppliers generally receive only the information needed to prepare the products and do not ordinarily receive a customer’s complete identity, contact information, or the store’s overseas retail price. Logistics providers receive the recipient and shipment information needed for customs clearance, delivery, tracking, and claims.

Some providers process information under our instructions, while others, including payment providers, may process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

We may also disclose information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, enforce an agreement, or protect the lawful rights, property, or safety of customers, the store, or others. We limit any disclosure to what is reasonably necessary.

9. International processing and transfers

The Quiet Edit is operated from China. Your personal information may be processed in China and in other countries or regions where PayPal, hosting, email, logistics, security, or other service providers operate.

Privacy laws in those places may differ from the laws where you live. Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate notices, consent, contracts, assessments, or other safeguards for international processing or transfers.

10. How long we keep personal information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet applicable legal requirements. We determine the period by considering the type of information, the status of the order or account, the need to provide after-sales service, applicable accounting and tax rules, fraud and security risks, limitation periods for claims, dispute handling, and legal preservation duties.

Order, payment, refund, shipping, and related communication records may be retained after fulfilment for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, dispute, and compliance purposes.

Optional account information is normally retained while the account remains active, subject to records we must continue to keep. Enquiry records are retained for the time reasonably needed to resolve and document the matter. Technical and security records are retained only for the period reasonably needed for operation, security, troubleshooting, and legal compliance.

When information is no longer needed, we delete, anonymise, or securely dispose of it where reasonably practicable, unless the law requires continued retention.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the size of our business, the nature of the information, and the risks involved. These measures are intended to limit unnecessary access and require relevant service providers to protect information they process. No internet transmission or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

If a personal information security incident occurs, we will investigate it, take reasonable steps to contain and address the impact, and notify affected individuals or authorities where required by law.

Do not send a full card number, card security code, account password, or other unnecessary sensitive information by ordinary email or through the Contact form.

12. Your privacy rights

Depending on the law that applies, you may have the right to ask whether we hold personal information about you and to request access, a copy, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or an objection to particular processing. You may also be entitled to withdraw consent and to complain to an appropriate authority. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

We provide the same basic request channel to all customers and respond within a reasonable time and within any deadline required by applicable law. We may need to retain information for order fulfilment, tax and accounting, fraud prevention, legal claims, dispute handling, or another legal requirement. Where applicable, we will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

To protect your information from an impersonator, we may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and will request only information reasonably necessary for verification. We do not ordinarily require a complete identity document or full card information.

Send your request to support@quieteditstore.com or use the Contact form and describe the right you wish to exercise.

13. Automated fraud and payment checks

PayPal and website security services may use automated systems to assess payment and fraud risk. We may use the resulting risk information to pause an order and carry out reasonable checks, but we do not use it for unrelated customer profiling or marketing.

If you believe an order was paused in error, contact us and we will review the available information.

14. Children’s information

The website and products are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child where valid parental or guardian consent is required by applicable law. If we learn that such information was collected without valid consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. The age at which a person is treated as a child varies by country.

15. Business changes

If the business is involved in a merger, sale, reorganisation, or transfer, personal information may be transferred to the party taking over the relevant business to the extent reasonably necessary to complete the transaction and maintain continuity.

The recipient must continue to respect applicable privacy obligations, and we will provide notice where required by law. This does not permit the sale of a customer list for unrelated marketing.

16. Third-party websites and services

The website may link to or use third-party services, such as payment or shipment-tracking services. Those third parties may process information under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to read the privacy information presented by a third party when you use its website or service.

17. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy when our business, technology, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised Policy and update the date shown above.

We will give additional notice of material changes through the website, email, or another method where required by law. If a new use of personal information requires consent, we will seek that consent before beginning the new use.

18. Contact us

For questions about this Policy or to make a privacy request, email support@quieteditstore.com or use the Contact form. The Contact form asks for your name, email address, and message.
